Rrezarta Aliu was born on April 17, 1997, in Prishtina, where she has lived, worked, and continues to contribute professionally. She is a psychologist, graduated from the University of Prishtina “Hasan Prishtina,” with extensive experience in the field of mental health, psychosocial support, and the protection of human rights.
Throughout her career, she has been engaged in working with children, youth, and vulnerable groups, providing educational and developmental support that contributes to improving emotional and psychosocial well-being, academic performance, and strengthening self-confidence.
Ms. Aliu has also served as a supervisor at Linja e Jetës, leading and supporting emergency helpline operators assisting individuals in need. In this role, she has contributed to ensuring professional intervention standards, supervising complex cases, and providing continuous support to volunteers, helping manage risk situations and safeguard the well-being of service beneficiaries.
In addition, she has made an important contribution to sensitive social and humanitarian processes, including the documentation of sexual violence during the war in Kosovo, psychosocial support for survivors of sexual violence, and monitoring the respect of human rights in closed institutions. Her experience includes cooperation with local and international organizations on projects aimed at social justice, trauma rehabilitation, and the empowerment of vulnerable communities.
She has also been involved in the drafting of professional manuals, practical guidelines, and analytical reports on individual and family trauma, contributing to the development of social policies and the improvement of mental health services in Kosovo. Her professional approach combines scientific standards with human sensitivity, promoting inclusive, ethical, and evidence-based interventions.
Currently, she serves as the Director of Tourism at the Municipality of Prishtina.
Known for her integrity, empathy, and high level of professionalism, Rrezarta Aliu remains committed to empowering individuals, protecting human dignity, as well as developing and promoting tourism as a sector of importance for sustainable development and the city’s image.

Directorate of Tourism
Mandate
The Directorate of Tourism shall be responsible for the development, coordination, and implementation of tourism policies at the municipal level, in accordance with applicable legislation and strategic priorities.
In particular, the Directorate shall:
- Develop and implement policies for the sustainable development of tourism within the Municipality of Prishtina;
- Promote the tourism assets of the Municipality, including its cultural, historical, and natural heritage;
- Ensure the provision of tourism-related services and information to visitors and residents, in compliance with the applicable legal framework.
Functions and Responsibilities
Within its field of competence, the Directorate of Tourism shall perform the following functions:
- Develop strategic documents and action plans for local tourism development, in alignment with national and international frameworks;
- Identify, develop, and manage tourism potential, including cultural, historical, and natural attractions;
- Design, organise and support events, festivals and initiatives that contribute to the promotion of tourism;
- Establish and maintain cooperation with local and international institutions, civil society organisations, and private sector stakeholders;
- Ensure the provision of tourist information through information centres, digital platforms, and promotional tools;
- Develop, publish, and disseminate promotional materials, including brochures, tourist guides, and maps;
- Support and facilitate the development of local tourism businesses, including accommodation providers, restaurants, travel agencies, and tour operators;
- Monitor and analyse tourist flows and assess the economic impact of tourism at the local level;
- Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of quality standards in tourism services, in cooperation with competent authorities;
- Promote sustainable tourism practices and environmental protection in tourism areas;
- Organise training and capacity-building programmes for staff and tourism stakeholders;
- Coordinate with other municipal directorates on matters related to tourism infrastructure development;
- Implement and oversee tourism-related projects financed by the municipal budget and/or external donors;
- Provide administrative and support services to stakeholders and citizens in the field of tourism;
- Perform any other duties falling within its mandate, in accordance with applicable legislation.
